About lynda

Lynda returned to KVNE in October, 2019 full-time after hosting Saturday middays in 2014-15. With a long and winding career in print and radio news and on-air hosting, Lynda’s media career actually started as a newspaper reporter/photographer in the Air Force and she stumbled into radio in 1983 – spinning actual vinyl records and using reel-to-reel tape – by accident. She was looking for a copy writer job and the program director asked if she’d ever thought about being a DJ. The rest is history. She is passionate about music and recently started building a new vinyl record collection. Lynda landed in East Texas in 2008 after six years at KCBI in Dallas and switched gears into writing and marketing.

She feels blessed that God opened the door for her to return to her first love, Christian radio, even though it followed the darkest time in her life. Lynda’s motto these days is “one foot in front of the other” after losing her oldest daughter, Mandy in 2019 and then her husband of 31 years, Bryan, in 2020. She has two grown children living in Mount Pleasant and Plano and is known as Nana to two precious grandbabies and is a cat mom to Probie. She is determined to choose joy and loves to laugh and share things she finds funny – even if she’s only laughing with herself! ;D

She sees Christian radio as a calling to share her faith, to be an encourager, and to hopefully brighten your day.
